4. Object Overlap (or Interposition)
If the projection of two objects overlaps, we perceive the object visible in the area of overlap as closer to the eye. In the image on the left, for example, the blue triangle is closer to the eye than the red triangle. Similarly, the yellow triangle is farther from the eye than the red triangle.
